A True Standard of Quality and Versatility Since 1931
August 2, 2022
Ilford HP5 Plus is one of the best-known and longest-living film products on the planet. It was introduced as HP in 1931 for dry plate cameras. Today, it’s available in a large variety of roll and sheet sizes from 35mm to 20x24” as it remains one of the best-selling black-and-white films ever made. In this review, I’ll cover the history of the brand and the product, explain all the unique properties of this film, mention a few unusual experiments only Analog.Cafe readers will know about, and share my tips for taking better photos on this incredible film.
