I’ve always been interested in the theme of disconnection. At first, it was unconscious and then I noticed I was developing a certain theme in my photographs.

Using shadows, pieces of glass, and different textures to convey a sense of something not being complete, unfulfilled. There but not completely present.

Many of these photos were taken last summer.

The series “Shades of Summer” attempts to capture warmth, vitality, and life that summer gives. Whilst creating a sense of disconnect that we can sometimes experience from these things for reasons we don’t quite understand.

I think of myself as a bit of a technophobe. I do little to no editing to my images. Instead, playing with light and other techniques to achieve the results I want.
